Jerrid Matthews is pursuing his Doctor of Science in Computer Science and a member of the Network Research Lab at the University of California, Los Angeles. Jerrid earned his Masters in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and Bachelors at Michigan State University. His current research interests are in wireless networks with an emphasis in health informatics.

Nikhil Mittal is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at University of California- Los Angeles. He graduated from Delhi College of Engineering, India in May 2010 where he was an integral part of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell at DCE. Nikhil has authored two IEEE International research publications and is currently working in the area of Image processing and optimization. During his graduate study, he has also served as a Teaching Assistant.

Diana Chien is a graduate student pursuing her PhD in the Chemical Engineering Department at UCLA. She attended Brown University for her undergrad in engineering, worked as a high school science teacher and as an industrial engineer, and became Co-Director of a tutoring company. Diana is excited to be on the board of TEC and looks forward to meeting everyone at the events.

Laide is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. She attended Cal Poly Pomona for her undergrad and obtained a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. She has entrepreneurial ambitions and hopes to obtain an M.B.A sometime in the near future. She is excited to be a part of TEC and hopes to make significant contributions to the organization.

Neil Rath is pursuing his Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering and is a member of the Edgerton Research Lab at the University of California, Los Angeles. Neil Earned his Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering and minor in Technology and Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His current research interests are in Neuromuscular Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, and Personal Training.

Matt Silverman is currently working towards his doctorate in the Chemical Engineering department at the University of California, Los Angeles, and holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is very active as a teaching assistant for various engineering classes, including design, technology management, and entrepreneurship classes, and has a passion for research and technology with medical applications. Matt currently coordinates the student attendance at Tech Coast Angel screening sessions, giving UCLA students and researchers the chance to see how ideas and patents can turn into profitable businesses.

Joy Chen is currently pursuing M.S. in electrical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. She recently joined TEC and will be involved in the Dinner with an Entrepreneur program. She has worked as integration engineer at Actel for two years before joining UCLA. Her research interest includes analog and high-speed circuits.

Norris Tie is currently an undergraduate aerospace engineering major at UCLA. His research interests are propulsion systems and currently works in UCLA Prof. Wirz’s Space Propulsion Lab. He hopes to bring greater entrepreneurship to UCLA through programs put on by TEC. Through these programs, he also hopes to meet passionate people who are driven and motivated in turning their ideas and dreams into realities.
